It's all coming back to me now....

Time doesn't drag on any more....the older you get, the faster it flies by. It seems like only yesterday that I made my first two blog entries, then took a break to see if I could think of something important.

Well, obviously, if I thought of anything important, I forgot about it before I could remember to write about it.

Or maybe I was just too shamed by another blogger (the first ever to comment on one of my posts) named lazyonebenn who said :"Yes, by all means, keep thinking of something important to write about,Like a baseball game...and for a diversion, you could even momentarily view another important event that's unfolding right now, in the comfort of your living room recliner. Tune in to CNN or Fox News. 'History' coming Live on Tv...!"

I have to tell you - after reading lazyonebenn's comments, I went right out and tuned in to CNN (yep, still the same old Communist News Network) and Fox News and started watching "history come alive" from my recliner (thanks for being so wise, lazyonebenn). What a thrill that has been. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The only problem with CNN and Fox and even the sewer of cable news networks, MSNBC, is that all I hear are politicians screaming at each other, with not a reasonable person in sight most days. The networks' news casts are absolute drivel, and the media spin itself is something to behold. I think they are all wacko.

The Democraps keep harping on our "failures" in Iraq, our bad standing in the court of world opinion, and yes, believe it or not, they still think George Bush lied to them just so he could get revenge for his Dad (but - they DO support the troops!). I hear about Al Bore and global warming (President Bush's fault, as was Katrina, New Orleans, North Korea, Iran, oil prices, tanked economy blah...blah...blah).

Back to the harping, perfect examples are Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid - the only word I can think to describe them, if they really mean all the crap that they say is - "buffoon" (according to Wikpedia: Derived from the combination of a donkey and a baboon in ancient literature....Strictly, a buffoon is, "A ridiculous, but nevertheless amusing person."....In the more modern sense, the term is frequently used in a derogatory sense to describe someone considered a public fool, or someone whose inappropriately vulgar, bumbling or ridiculous behavior is a source of general amusement..)"

And then there's Joe Biden. Who would want him to be in charge of anything? Can you say open mouth, insert foot?

Hillary? Not a chance. Can you imagine that shrill voice reverberating through our televisions for 4 years? Do you think Bill would even get to live in the White House again? She voted for it, but she was sort of for it before she was sort of against it, and now she's completely against it (but - she DOES support the troops!), and wants everyone home within the next few weeks.

Osama? Is there anything there but a "clean" (Biden's words...) face with absolutely no experience? Have 'em all home by next March (but - he DOES support the troops!).

Did the Democraps ever get their key legislation passed in their first 100 hours in charge? I somehow missed that on CNN.

It's great to have them in charge again - so they can show those Republicants how to run a government (but - they DO support the troops!)

The Republicants haven't been much better, I must admit. They couldn't get anything done in the last hundred years or so, either.

I do think the idea of a 700 mile fence is good in theory, though. You know, they could cover 1400 miles if they had a fence for a mile, then a gap for a mile (you know...fence...gap...fence...gap...fence...gap). Well, it might at least slow down more illegal aliens - or, as I recently heard suggested - undocumented citizens (see "buffoon", above).

Other important thoughts:

Per capita, I wonder which city is the most violent? New Orleans, Baghdad, Washington, DC, or Los Angeles? There must be a few million dollars of taxpayer money laying around so somebody on NPR could do a study of that.

I just had occasion to read the IRS rules on getting an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, or ITINs. The IRS is pretty clear that these taxpayer ID numbers will be issued regardless of immigration status and can only be used for tax purposes, not for identification. The funny thing is, these forms are mailed back to the applicant. So....if an undocumented citizen has provided one agency of the US Government with an address, is it unreasonable to think that the address of the undocumented citizen (for brevity, let's just call them UCs) could be provided to a certain US Government law enforcement agency among whose missions is one that tasks them with sending those UCs back home? Would that be too easy? Would it require too much organization? Does the prohibition against the use of common sense within government agencies come into play here? Or, is the presence of a UC okay as long as taxes are being withheld?

fence....gap...fence...gap...fence...gap...gap...gap...gap...fence

Why would we put National Guard Soldiers on the border without ammunition and without rules of engagement which will allow them to defend our borders and themselves (but they DO support the troops)? Are we just playing at border security? What's it going to take for our government to decide to do this the right way?

If we do remove our forces from Iraq before that job is done (and yes, Mr. McCain, it will be a waste of lives) it won't be the first time our elected representatives will have caved in to media pressure and made it impossible for the military to wage war effectively. (Want to guess where I was in the late 60's and early 70's?)

If the Democraps succeed in prematurely ending our involvement in the attempt to build a nation in Iraq (because I think the war against Iraq truly ended with the fall of Saddam's regime and our occupation of Baghdad), then I think we should pull all our service men and women out of all foreign bases. We should bring them all home, and station them along our borders with Canada and Mexico, put some at the seaports and some at our airports; in other words, position them so that they may completely prevent illegal entry into our country.

Because I think we will need them there. I don't think the Islamic Extremists are going to quit hating us or trying to kill us just because we leave Iraq, do you? After all, we weren't in Iraq or Afghanistan when the World Trade Center was attacked, either in '93 or '01. We weren't in Iraq or Afghanistan when the USS Cole was attacked, either.

But, hopefully, the Democraps will fail (but they DO support the troops), and we can finish the job.

As to those who would harm us, I still think its better to shoot them somewhere else besides in our streets. But, if "shoot them in the streets" has to happen, I would rather have all our military here with us.

LIFE LESSON FOR OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS:

1. Don't play with guns, especially if you're not carrying them.
2. While you may think the world is like a chessboard, remember that Soldiers are not pawns and you're not the king.
3. If you haven't got the balls to see a job completed, don't vote for it in the first place.
4. Changing your mind on something as important as whether to go to war or not is like wishing you hadn't shot somebody after they are dead.
5. Vote like nobody's watching.
6. Say what you mean, and mean what you say.
7. Remember who put you there, and that you are accountable.
8. Normal people want you to do the right thing all the time.
9. Normal people don't participate in polls except on election day.
10.You may look pretty on TV, but that picture only lasts a few seconds. What you say and how you vote lasts forever.
