Finally! Something important has come to mind....

I'm a big, big, Atlanta Braves fan. I got into the Braves back in the 80's (long before they put together their incredible string of 14 consecutive championships), and am still glued to the television most nights when they are playing.

I have to admit, its been a little tougher this year than in past years, because, on more nights than not, this year the Bravos have lost.

But.....not to worry. All of us true fans are convinced they will be in the thick of the playoff race again this year. All they have to do to turn this season around is win about 55 of their remaining 68 or so games - and for the hated Mets to lose a few.

I think the picture accompanying this post (see how I've learned blog-speak already?) pretty much sums up how I feel about the team and what it looks like in my house when the game is on. Oh, sure, I don't smoke in the house, and rarely drink anything canned (besides Diet Pepsi), but most nights you can find me in the old recliner in front of the big screen - cheering my team on.

You know, come to think of it, when I look at that picture, I realize that my hair is not that dark (its white, or at best light gray). I don't wear that kind of t-shirt, and my belly (I hope and pray) is not quite that big - but other than that, it looks like me.

Well, I really am disappointed. Now that I have typed all this, and read it back, I realize that its not nearly as important as I thought it might be. I think it was really just an easy way to practice my new-found blogging skills and to learn how to publish a picture. Now that I've mastered that, I may move on to music. I'll take any recommendations.

And......I'll keep thinking of something very, very important to write about. Later.....

So......What do you do with a blog, anyway?

Now that I have this blog, I'm at a little bit of a loss. One would assume that one would have something important to say if one went to all the trouble to set up a blog site.

If that's a correct assumption, I guess that makes me just like everyone else - because everything I have to say is, or at least certainly should be, important. I have so very, very many important things to say, that I really don't know where to start. Maybe if I type long enough, something of great significance that needs to be discussed right now will come to me.

On the other hand, if I pause during my typing and do a little thinking, maybe that will stimulate my "important topic that needs to be discussed right now" gene.

No, that didn't seem to work, either. I guess I'm going to have to do some serious thinking before I come up with a topic so important that I positively have to share it with the great unwashed and unworthy.

So, while you read other blogs (from writers without writers block), I will just sit back by the fire and think. Later.....
